Gaia Bernstein has spearheaded the development of the Seton Hall Institute for Privacy Protection Student-Parent Outreach Program, which operates in schools in New Jersey and New York. The Outreach Program is unique in that it includes both a curriculum for elementary and middle school students and lectures for parents. It highlights the importance of developing a healthy online-offline balance and connects between excessive use of smartphones, screens and digital communication and privacy and reputational harms. As part of the Outreach Program, Gaia delivers lectures to parents titled: “Our Kids, Our Screens and What Can We do?”
